We Can Help You Combat Allergies This Spring

Oh, spring. It is a season of milder temperatures, slowly lengthening days and the anticipation of summer. It can be both a wonderful season of transition and one of ah…ah…..ACHOO….allergies. As great as spring can be with its warming weather and its beautiful burst of flora, all that extra plant growth also translates to an increase of pollen, dirt, and dust which spells trouble for those of us with allergies.

Spring, also known to those of us with overactive immune systems as allergy season, can be nice—but it can also be a time of year when a lot of people are more-than-willingly holed up at home trying to wait out the wave of pollen. Unfortunately, even home may not be the safest place for this if you don’t have a way to stop all those allergens from getting inside.

We are happy to tell you though that there is a solution to your home allergy qualms in the form of indoor air quality systems in Jackson, MS.

Indoor Air Quality and You

When you walk into your home you should be able to see it as a safe haven of comfort—the temperature is where you need it to be and there isn’t a cloud of pollen or dust waiting to trigger your allergies. That’s what your home should be, but if the indoor air quality of your house isn’t where it needs to be, reality may be quite different and you may have just as much trouble with your allergies indoors as you do walking around outside.

If your home is a place with a high level of dust, pollen, dirt, and other allergens or irritants, it won’t be able to keep you comfortable even if the air conditioning system is working perfectly–because no one is comfortable when they are sneezing and congested all day. There are ways to boost your indoor air quality though and we want to tell you about them:

  • Whole-home air filtration systems: Air filters are installed into your ductwork and are going to be a type of mesh filter that can capture things like dust, pollen, and even mold spores, depending on what strength the filter is.
  • Whole-home ultraviolet air purification systems: Also installed into your ductwork, a UV air purifier uses ultraviolet light to address allergens, bacteria, viruses, and mold. The UV light will either kill the particles or make it impossible for them to grow and spread, thereby leaving them as harmless as the dust you will wipe off the table.
  • Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs): ERVs are ideal for springtime. They can bring in fresh, filtered, temperature-controlled air without having to expend any extra energy or compromise your indoor air quality.

Giving your home’s IAQ a helping hand is going to make springtime a lot more enjoyable for someone with allergies. If you are interested in making your home the breathable safe haven it is meant to be, make sure you reach out to the professionals on our team to get the job done right.
